La Ricostruzione
For the renovation of the farmhouse La Manzona, a low environmental impact approach was adopted, prioritizing the reuse of materials from the partial demolition of the building. The handmade kiln bricks were recovered, brushed and carefully cleaned before being reused on site. The old ceiling and roof beams, no longer suitable for load-bearing functions, were dismantled and entrusted to a historic carpentry shop in Predappio which, after careful selection and remediation, turned them into boards to make 75% of the internal doors and the fireplace beams. The remaining doors were built with additional reclaimed wood from other farmhouses, while the recovered kiln tiles were reused for the outdoor walkways and for the area around the pool, reducing waste and enhancing existing resources.
