The story
Savio is not just nature
But it is also the scene of key episodes in Italian history. In 1849, during the famous “trafila” that followed the fall of the Roman Republic, Giuseppe Garibaldi found refuge in a local farmhouse, leaving an indelible mark on local memory.
The farmhouse
Dating back to the late 1800s, it is therefore set in a landscape context of outstanding value, protected by strict environmental and historic-artistic safeguard regulations: the Nulla Osta of the Po Delta Park, the binding opinion of the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, as well as the technical assessment of the Territory Safety and Civil Protection Service of Ravenna within the framework of the Extract Plan for Hydrogeological Risk. Such recognition attests to the importance of the territorial context in which La Manzona is set.
